wearing hats indoors
I was listening to my buddy get berated by someone for wearing a hat indoors because "its rude!". I asked as to how it is rude and was told the "it just is!". Well since I simply can't stand pro-active ignorance I was forced to surgically sterilize this individual and then sodomize his mother. But then it got me thinking-- is there a good reason for taking hats off indoors? Apart from the tired old canard "its rude", I suspect its got something to do with one of those silly religious meanings everyone keeps prattling on about. So seriously, why and/or how is it rude to wear a hat indoors?
I'm not talking about military courtesy of removing hat indoors, thats a given. I'm talking about the general rule of etiquette of removing hats indoors-- any answers?
And if the best answer you can come up with is something like "its disrespectful" or "its just how things are done", then don't bother answering me. You are clearly too stupid to live and should do us all a favor and suicide yourself by jumping into the mouth of a Siberian tiger.

i guess it's tradition, like not showing up at a dinner party nude. or wearing a tie to work.
Teachers always used to say no hats in class cuz they want to see people's faces. I don't like hats indoors cuz of the possible (if minimal) face blockage.
I will watch the other Bourne movies, but I doubt if I'll read the books. The only action story I like in book-form is "The Hobbit", though I usually avoid reading the genre in general.
i don't understand why people wear hats indoors...but i don't see why it's rude
As a deaf person, I like seeing a person's complete face. It's been said that communication is 90% nonverbal and a person's facial expressions contribute to that. I don't know about politeness or etiquette, but if a person is wearing a hat indoors, I assume he/she desires to create a communication barrier.
hahahah yeah i know man....there's too many donkey players at the tables anyways...
This is more about training myself in the latest technology more than the phone itself. You know how it works in IT, you never know what you will be working with next.
Ages ago, probably before you were born, I was taught it was because that was how people showed they didn't have head lice when visiting other people. Cleanliness at that time left much to be desired, and visiting others was THE thing to do before tv, radio, and even public education, so when visiting, in order to show you weren't going to be leaving presents, you removed your hat as you came into a home.
You're forgetting something, because I'm an indepedent contractor, I can get a deduction from my already insanely high taxes.
its disrespectful, come on man its just how things are done! deal with it.
in my country, it's like you're not respecting the fact that the roof above your head -- your host's roof -- is not enough to shelter you from whatever weather is existing, and so it's like, rude.
does seem to be tradition...
It's a sign of respect. Thus: "I take my hat off to______"
It's basically the same as making eye-contact when shaking hands. It shows that you have nothing to hide as well.
Like not putting your hand under the table in Turkey.
In my opinion, people (ESPECIALLY MEN), should be able to wear hat's anywhere they want. I love a man in a hat. LOVE it. Especially if he's wearing it backwards.. Yum.
Hope you're well darlin,
Angela
I think it might have something to do with having eye contact because if you wear a heat with a brim, it casts a shadow over your eyes and you seem...mysterious or shady? Or you know what's worse than wearing hats inside? Wearing mirrored sunglasses when talking to someone. I hate people who do that. Totally random, sorry. It connects though, kinda, right?
